A plate of golden oat and banana pancakes, perfect for babies aged 7-12 months, served with a dollop of yogurt.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana, mashed

  • 1 egg

  • 1 cup milk or water

  • ½ cup quick-cooking oats

  • 1 cup flour

  • 2 tablespoons neutral oil

  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon baking soda

  • 3 tablespoons sugar

  • Pinch of salt

  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions for Making Oat and Banana Pancakes:

  1. Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed banana, egg, oil, and milk or water. Stir until everything is well blended.

  2. Add the Dry Ingredients: Add the oats, flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt to the wet mixture. Mix until all ingredients are fully combined into a smooth batter.

  3. Prepare the Pan: Heat a pan over medium heat and add the butter. Once the butter has melted and become foamy, it’s time to start cooking the pancakes.

  4. Cook the Pancakes: Pour about ¼ cup of the pancake batter into the pan. When bubbles start to form on the surface, flip the pancake and cook until both sides are golden brown.

  5. Repeat and Serve: Continue with the remaining batter. Serve the pancakes warm, topped with a spoonful of yogurt or nut butter for extra flavor and nutrition.

Tips:

  • You can use non-dairy milk instead of regular milk or water.

  • For a natural sweetener, substitute maple syrup for the sugar.

These oat and banana pancakes are not just easy to make but also provide essential nutrients for your baby’s growth. Enjoy making these fluffy and tasty pancakes for your little one, and watch them delight in every bite!
